Driving through the riverbeds of Namibia! Absolutely 📵no cellphone reception, 🚱 no water. We had to be fully self sufficient, enough food, enough water and enough fuel. The thought of being on our own was quite nerve wracking at times 😨. Would definitely recommend traveling with more than one vehicle to have backup 🚙

Enjoying an apple 🍎 in the middle of nowhere. Our roadtrip through Namibia continues. We try to take as many breaks as possible to keep the trip short and also entertaining for the kids. We enjoy a trip much more by stopping and admiring the surroundings instead of rushing 🏃‍♂️ to the final destination 🏁. Like to take it slow 🐌? Or do you want to get there and enjoy the destination ⛱️?

Waking up in nature with the song of birds 🐦 as your alarm clock ⏰ We camped at the Rhino Ugab Camp where camping is free but you pay a donation towards the Rhino 🦏 conservancy. Watch out for elephants 🐘 and lions 🦁! We made sure the kids were in the tent ⛺ at sunset and made a huge fire 🔥. Have you ever been visited by wildlife whilst camping?

Our first night of camping ⛺ in the wild. Just us in the middle of nowhere with the most exquisite night sky 🌠...complete silence 🤫 Ever camped in the wild?

Far far away in the Namib desert 🏜️ we reached this signpost - Moer Toe - an Afrikaans saying meaning "Gone" - so difficult to express the meaning in English but it sure was funny to come across!! 😂 Do you have some sayings in your native language that you just can not explain?? Afrikaans has lots!!

On our way to the Messum Crater. Quick stop to investigate the Welwitschia plant endemic to the Namib desert. It has a root system with a diameter of up to 30meters 😲! Some of these are estimated to be over 1000 years old! Not the prettiest plant, but sure something to see!
